What is Little Innovators? Little learners get a head full of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) with these interdisciplinary and hands-on activities. Designed for curious preschoolers, these playful activities focus on themed materials and then expand outward with storytelling, project-based learning, science, discovery, artifact viewing and classroom exploration.

$5 PER CHILD (Ticket includes 1 Adult with 1 Pre-K Innovator; Adult must attend with child) Museum admission is not included.

Groups of 10 or more can receive a discounted rate by scheduling in advance with our scheduling manager.

Additional Discounts:

• ASTC/ACM members, Military Personnel, Homeschool families, and Museums for All participants must purchase tickets at the Welcome Desk to receive discounts. You must bring a valid state-issued ID, along with either your registration record, verification cards, or Letter of Intent to receive the discounted rate.
• Homeschool discounts do not apply to children under the age of 5.

POP, BUBBLE, FIZZ

Students measure and mix as they sharpen observation skills and learn about solids, liquids, and gases. Experiment with color change, measure ingredients, and test chemical reactions while making fizzy brews and rubbery gloop.

Target Grades:  K-5

Program Time: 1 pm

Regular museum hours are 9 am- 4 pm.

Prices include Museum admission and program fee. NC Sales tax is applied to admission.

A limited number of day-of tickets will be available.

Celebrate the colors of spring! Dress for mess in your white t-shirt for color powder play, hunt for plastic eggs in the Environmental Park, explore the museum, and engage in hands-on science and art activities. Children can trade their empty eggs for a goody bag with novelties and Top 8 safe candy.

The museum is open from 11 am-5 pm for Spring Fling ticket holders only, and you are welcome to enjoy the exhibits and special activities during that time. Please note that you are only able to participate in the egg hunt during the ticket time you purchased.

Planetarium shows: 12 pm, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm

Color Powder Play: 1:30 pm or 4:30 pm

This is a rain or shine event. Dress for mess! Plan to end your Spring Fling experience with color powder play. Museum re-entry is not permitted if you resemble a rainbow! We suggest you bring towels to protect your vehicle during the ride home. 

Guests age 5 and above are required to wear a mask.

Children, please bring a basket for collecting your eggs!

Exceptional Night at the Museum is a series of exclusive events during which children and adults with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities — along with their families and caregivers — can enjoy the wonders of Kaleideum. Exceptional Night events offer inclusive and adaptive programming in a less crowded museum environment.

• If you would like to add morning extended care (beginning at 8 am) for an additional $25—select the ticket Youth + AM extended care.
• If you would like to add afternoon extended care (until 5:30 pm) for an additional $50—select the ticket Youth + PM extended care.
• If you would like to add BOTH morning and afternoon extended care (8 am-5:30 pm) for an additional $75—select the ticket Youth + AM and PM extended care.
